The disciples were rowing hard, they were in the middle of a STORM. Suddenly, they saw Yeshua walking on the water. The disciples cried out in fear.
“But Jesus immediately said to them: ‘Take courage! It is I. Don’t be afraid.’”
“Lord, if it’s you,” Peter replied, “tell me to come to you on the water.”
“Come,” he said.
Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus. But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, “Lord, save me!”
Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught him. “You of little faith,” he said, “why did you doubt?” Matthew 14
I believe that Peter wanted to walk on water as Yeshua. It was a miraculous moment in Peter`s life. He actually got to walk on water. It was an ACT of FAITH. Yeshua said greater things WILL you do than these. Yeshua wants us to do what He did and greater. Peter stepped out of his comfort zone and the miraculous happened. Today, if we step out of our comfort zone we will also walk on water. It was only when Peter took his eyes off Yeshua, and look at the STORM, that he began to sink. Yeshua grabbed him as he was sinking. We need to get out of the boat today. This could be a mindset that we have or our little box that we like others to visit us. It could be a place of security where we are just satisfied and content.
What am I looking at today?
Is it the face of Yeshua?
Another point-Yeshua went back to the boat with Peter. He did not need to enter the boat or box. He could have walked to land alone, but no, He chose to enter. Yeshua choses to be where we are every moment because Yeshua desires intimacy with us. In the same way we should desire to be in relationship with others today. Do we love people enough that we chose to enter their life-even if it is for a moment? Even if we do not like their box or mindset? Do we love others the way Yeshua loves us? Do we give others he freedom that He has given us?
Yeshua has given us the FREEDOM to chose Him again every day.
